1 Corinthians

1 Corinthians 07:32-35

I want you to be free from anxieties. The unmarried man is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to please the Lord. But the married man is anxious about worldly things, how to please his wife, and his interests are divided. And the unmarried or betrothed woman is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to be holy in body and spirit. But the married woman is anxious about worldly things, how to please her husband. I say this for your own benefit, not to lay any restraint upon you, but to promote good order and to secure your undivided devotion to the Lord.

1 Corinthians 7:32-35 (ESV)

Seek wisdom regarding your earthly responsibilities, be careful not to worry or be overly consumed with things of the world. Fewer interests in the world will allow you to place more of your attention on pleasing and worshiping God.

1 Corinthians 16:13

Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

1 Corinthians 16:13 (NASB)

It is by faith that we are able to stand our ground in an hour of temptation and fear. Be bold and defend the gospel with courage and integrity.

1 Corinthians 15:58

So my dear brothers and sisters, stand strong. Do not let anything move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your work in the Lord is never wasted.

1 Corinthians 15:58 (NCV)

Be relentless in your walk and fearless in your work for the Lord. A generous reward awaits those who labor for Him.

1 Corinthians 10-13

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV)

Satan is a deceiver, but God is faithful, so draw strength and security from Him. He knows our limits and will either proportion temptation to our strength, or provide us with the strength to overcome. Be faithful to Him by relying on Him.
