The account of Jesus calming the storm (Mark 4:35-41) is an impressive demonstration of Christ’s power over nature and His ability to comfort us in the storm. It showcases our need to call on Him in prayer and place our trust and reliance on Him, it was the inspiration for writing Fearful To Fearless.

When the disciples cried out suggesting that He didn’t care whether they perished or not, Christ showed His disappointment in their lack of faith. For Christ loves us all and wants for none to perish, but for all to have faith and go through the storm with Him. Each time we choose to trust Him in the storm the stronger our faith becomes.

But what we also see in this passage is the transformation from being afraid, to having the fear of God. The disciples just witnessed the power that He had over the sea and storm and realized the power that He had over them. They were now in awe, they marveled at what they just observed and were filled with the fear of God, a godly fear of the power and grace of Christ during the calm, a fear of the Lord and all His goodness, a reverent awe that was full of honor and glorifying to Christ.  (Published By Koozzz

I just want to thank you for writing your book, Fearful to Fearless. Life has been so easy for us for so long but recently, things are not going well with R’s job. It is a mystery to us as he has continually met his yearly goal, even in years when very few in the whole company were able to do so. Setting that aside, they have given R some unbelievable demands which are next to impossible in the economically depressed area of Michigan that we live. Of course, fear started to take over our thoughts and we considered possibly not having a job at age 61, the lack of medical insurance until we can get Medicare at 65, the lack of income five years before we had planned and knowing that our savings could sustain us somewhat but certainly would not be enough to keep things going for possibly another 30 years. So we got out your book and started using it for our morning devotions. What a blessing! R is doing well at working hard and continuing to give his best and not knowing how long he will be working, and wondering whether he really wants to work this hard during his last 5 years of employment. The scripture and your insight are such a boost each morning! Our fear has subsided and we are content knowing that God has a plan and that He will be with us no matter what happens. We just want you to know how your book has affected us and thank you so much for writing it.

This is an amazing book that has touched both my and my daughter’s life at just the right time. Thank you for allowing me to review. Here is a link to my blog post:

I am not sure if I can get this book but,am going to give you a little of our testimony. 7 1/2 years ago my daughter & I were in a very serious car accident. We both survived but, I had a Craniotomy & was not conscious for about 10 weeks. I’ve had to relearn to walk, speak, re-become a mother…etc. one thing I am sure of is that I am a child of God & my desire to know Him has really, really increased. I am in Bible studies and I fail to miss church. I really desire to know more so that I can share God’s Word with people and share our testimony with them, to give god all the GLORY!!

I am in a constant wrestling with my self as to if there is something more I should be doing with my life. My wife who is in training as a Certified Lay Minister always tells me that what I do to enable her is enough. I am always interested in anything that may help me find what God has for me.

I’ve been saved for over 30 years but have been riding the outrageous highs and plunging lows of the religious roller coaster. About four years ago I came to a place in God where He really was everything to me (I thought). He put on my heart to memorize the Proverbs and during that time I found myself telling Him over and over (and declaring to whomever else was near) that I wanted to be a Warrior! It would come shouting out of me when I was in the darkest battle – the devil didn’t like it. Something happened…I can’t put my finger on it but it was a subtle turning back to old ways and soon I wasn’t in the Word like I needed to be, and wasn’t praying (lacking confidence to come boldly). “Fearful to Fearless” seems to be speaking to the Warrior inside me who wants to come out – the God woman.

The title of this book DESCRIBES me!! I am in a constant struggle with my teenage daughter, with making sure we have enough money to pay our bills etc., my husband after many years as a successful computer programmer accepted the calling of being a youth pastor and of course a substantial paycut. God has ALWAYS taken care of me but my fear still grips me at times. I would love to overcome this giant hurdle in my life and know that I can jump it and never look back.

I had an alcoholic mother, a very abusive short first marriage and now I have an alcoholic daughter who us attempting to recover and get back to God. Although I am now very happily married to a wonderful Christian man, we are living ina very dark spiritual part of the country. I have had a number of serious illnesses and need my Lord and Savior more than ever now. I’m crawling my way back to Him but need all the help I can get.

In the last year, I have experienced loss – my grandmother, job, my Dad (who was the best ever!!), and a job again. There were terrible floods in my town the night my Dad died. This, along with my toxic job, brought fear into me – like a cancer. I am struggling to fight this fear/spiritual warfare every day. God is my stronghold. The book you are offering will serve as a guidebook to me in this journey through so many unknowns…thank you.

I’d like the book to see if God has revealed to you the same things He’s been showing me about fear and it’s children (worry/doubt/unbelief…). I came back to the Lord just over 2 years ago and it’s been quite an eye opening experience. Always thought the opposite of faith was fear — turns out love is fear’s opposite (casts it out).

Sometimes I sputter, moan, groan, and squeak, but I don’t tweet… Sorry… I usually have my face in a book (Bible)… Not Facebook… (I’m pretty sure God still loves me!)

God bless your efforts…

Good luck and ADIOS….

I have been a single mom of five for quite awhile….I work and go to school. I chronically worry that I may not be raising the kids appropriately, worry about their welfare, worry about monies, house payment. I trust God however I falter way more than my body can handle. I turn the worries into stress therefore have been having a lot of health issues lately.
I just want to be able to refer to the not worrying phrases so keep me and the kids spiritually and mentally healthy.
Thank you,

I have recently been diagnosed with bipolar and have suffered from anxiety and depression for years. I have tried to raise 4 children on my own and they are so far, successful people, but my relationships are not great with all of them. I recently attended a Via de Cristo weekend and recived some healing for my bipolar and PTSD. It was fantastic. But I find myself faltering at times and would really like a book like this to help me stay healed and whole. I still have a 15 yo at home and I don’t want her to be messed up because of my problems. This book would be a truly wonderful gift and I could not afford it on my own. Thanks for listening to my story.

I do not deserve a free copy of this book, I do not deserve eternal life. Not because of who I am but in spite of who I am I am given the gift of eternal life through my Savior, Jesus Christ.
There have been many trials in my 49 years (cancer, pre-mature birth of my children, death of both parents, job layoffs, etc.) and in retrospect, God has always been there to carry the Kellys through these storms. You would think by now that I have learned to completely trust the Lord in all my life, but I fail over and over again. I try to keep my focus in God’s word by reading the scriptures everyday (almost). I seek out new ways to keep my focus on God’s words and teachings and think that your book would be a tremendous help in my faith walk.

I want this book because my children and I have been going through tribulations and transitions since 2007. I always want to read books that will bring us closer to the Father and His son, Jesus. As a single mother, I do have fears but knowing my Father makes all the different in my faith and trust in Him. I know He can be mighty through the storms, but I need more acknowledge from being fearful to fearless during our time of tribulations and transitions in my life and my children. I have to keep teaching and encouraging them in Jesus and the Father!

This is the road I have been treading down these past few years. I have been trusting God and thanking God for the many miracles He has brought into my life. I need to have the truth at my side allowing me to stay fixed on our God. I know He has been walking right allow side me or at times has even had to carry me when I could not go forward by myself!

Because I was born a female to a woman who had a strong need to give her husband a son I have been fearful most of my life. I have experienced great healing from Jesus as if I were an infant in his arms. Since then I have not been fearful in everyday situations. However my husband used that fear to his advantage to get me to do things I would not have done otherwise. Now after many years of widowhood I still do not trust men enough to get close to one on a personal level. I need more healing and I would use everything I learn in ministry to others.

The book would be for our daughter Cindy. After many years of taking drugs, drinking and many other things she has finally turned her life back to our Lord Jesus Christ. However, she still struggles with forgiving herself and often is fearful about loosing her home etc. She lives alone and often wakes up in the night very fearful and not sure why. She is working with a pastor from her church but after reading about your book feel that this might be helpful, not only for her but for her dad and I as we try to be an encouragement to her.

Getting closer to God takes us further away from fear. I am always interested in what other Christians have to say about how the Bible helps us along the way, which I in turn share with the people in my life.

I am in women’s ministry, and fear is one of the most common prayer requests i receive. I would like to use this book as a tool for ministering to others as well as soak up scripture i can live out daily in my own walk with Jesus.

Fear is a tool of the evil one, used to prevent us from doing God’s work. it stops us from believing we can do all things, if it’s His will to do so. As Max Lucado said, it “emasculates greatness.” This book looks like an excellent read on that topic and one that should empower all of us to live boldly to our God-given potential.

I have been living in so much fear in the past 3 1/2 since my husband past away in June. I don’t like feeling this way and I know I am not supposed to. I have been told in counseling with one of our pastors that fear is of the devil. I can’t seem to shake it.
My biggest fears are because of my finances and being alone. I have no income since my husband’s pension went when he did and I keep getting more and more bills and every time I get one the fear sets in more. I need something to tell me how I can get rid of this problem.

Fear of God had been my constant companion. Women where not valued as I was growing up and I have not made the smartest choices in my life, Only 18 years ago, God brought a truly wonderful man into my life to teach me to love and trust. 3yrs ago God brought us to a wonderful church where I have just learned that God loves me. Now my husband has just a few months to live, cancer has claimed his body. Fear is rearing its awful head and shouting Run! Run! I truly want to hold onto God as tight as I can , Maybe just maybe you wrote this book for me and my brother sent me the page link on facebook. to let you know you did.
Thank you , Deb

Fear is one of satans most used tools and we seem to live in fear based society, fear of not measuring up, finances, relationships and the list goes on and on. I think many people, even Christians that struggle in this area, need God’s Word [scriptures] to erase those fears and replace them with the “TRUTH” of God’s promises. I would so much love to have one of these books that I might gain a more deeper trust and so that I can share with others God’s Word on fear and trust. A thought just came to mind, I would like to have a bible study on this subject with some my women friends.

Although I have had much counseling and have been open to the word of God I want more and more understanding of Gods word and I too want to breakthrough fear and have the tools to make it crumble before me through Jesus and desire to be an assistant to others I hold dear and the people of this World encouraging all who are in need with the sharing of this good teaching as a need is brought before me in my interactions with life

I grew up in a very abusive home, as I child I was made to watch my father beat my mother. Then his rage would be inflicted on myself and my other sisters. Either physcially or sexually. As an adult that fear has kept me from experiening God in his fullness because of my fear of people, circumstances or fear of experiencing good things thinking bad things would happen. I am ready to be set free from the bondage of fear. I hope to receive a copy of your book so that I may once and for all have the tools that will allow me to break free from fear.

Thank you,
