Because God’s children are human beings made of flesh and blood; the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Christ came to defeat death so that our souls would be at peace knowing that we will not be separated from the love of God. What once belonged to the devil is now owned by Christ and is our pathway to eternal life.
